Interview: Couples on Cam

Have you ever wondered what the difference was between solo and couples camming? Here is the interview I did with Ed & Krystal regarding their experience.

Are you dating in real life?
We are an actual couple. We’ve been together, off and on, for 3 years. We enjoy a “semi-open” relationship as we invite girls on the show and Krystal will share me with them.

Do you think couples get more tokens and views than solo performers? Why or why not?
Couples vs. singles is probably a lot closer than you would think. But I would guess that couples get more views based on what I’ve seen. We do both couple and singe shows, and we generally get more viewers when we do shows together.

Do you only do couples shows? Or do you individually do solo shows as well?
We do both kinds of shows because our viewers  like to get one-on-one attention. But they love to see us together too. It really just depends on the mood of the rooms sometimes. If the solo thing isn’t coming across like we want, we’ll switch to a couples show.

From time to time, one person may receive more attention than the other. Does this ever bring up feelings of jealousy? If so, how do you cope with it?
We have a funny situation related to that. I built a decent following doing solo shows while Krystal was…….well…. she was in jail – but that’s a story for another time. LOL. And this group of loyal followers never fail to let Krystal know they are there to see me for the most part. Example: We were doing a threesome show and I had to step off camera for a second, to talk to someone at the door. While I was gone the girls were sitting there visiting with the viewers and they were flooded with “Where’s Ed?!” and “Is Ed coming back soon?!”. Two beautiful girls sitting naked on my bed, and the room wanted me back on cam. We have a great sense of humour about it, so it doesn’t bother us much. The best way to cope with any kind of jealousy issues is to just communicate boundaries and set up “rules” before uncomfortable situations create opportunities for jealous feelings.

Do you feel camming helps your relationship, or is it strictly for financial gain?
It started as a way to spice things up in the bedroom, but it quickly turned into more. Somehow, we felt closer to each other by sharing our most intimate things with total strangers. It built a sense of trust between us that has bled over into our everyday life. We are a team now, striving for the same goals. The money is great and we love our big tippers, but we are not in it for the cash.

Whose idea was it to start camming?
It was totally, and 100% Krystal’s idea. She was surprised I even agreed to do it! It just wasn’t in my character to do something like that. I was married for almost 20 years and had 7 kids before I met Krystal so this was outside my comfort zone. But I took to it pretty fast and found out a lot about myself in the process. Now I wish I had started a lot sooner!

Thank you so much to Ed and Krystal for agreeing to do this interview.
Be sure to check out their twitter here
And most importantly, here is their chaturbate link. As stated above, they aren’t in it for the money but who doesn’t love a good tip?

“Mods”- A Quick Run Down

Once you’re deep into the camming world, it can be hard to keep up with your chat rooms while simultaneously performing. Thankfully, one of your awesome fans will most likely offer to moderate your chat.

Here’s what your “mod” should do:
-Answer repetitive questions
-Learn your tip menu, and inform new viewers
-Silence disrespectful users (up to 6 hours)

Photo by Anderson Guerra on Pexels.com

Here’s what they shouldn’t do:
-Go on a power trip “squishing greys¹”
-Demand free services in return
-Neglect your broadcast

Some users suggest “trial runs” with potential mods where they only allow them to run the chat for one day. That way you don’t have to go through the awkwardness of retracting the responsibilities.

All moderators are different: some do it for free, some in exchange for services or tokens. Figure out what’s best for you- know your worth + tax.

Happy camming.
Love always,
Amy

Camming & Confidence

Self confidence is something many of us struggle with, and the cam world can both help and hinder a persons experience with it.

Con: some compliments suck…

As a cam model, you’re going to get people fetishize things you don’t necessarily like about yourself. Personally, I got people “compliment” me on my chubby belly, or they’d say obscenities about my lady bits that made me question my own attractiveness. It’s important to remember that these people are fetishizing, so even though their pointing it out may make us unsettled, they’re saying it because to them it’s hot.

Pro: … but most don’t!

Sure, you’ll get the comments you hate, but for every dumb comment, there’s ten good. Most want to shower you in compliments regarding just how gorgeous, and sexy you are. These same viewers will typically also jump down the throats of trolls.

Con: it’s easy to compare your body to others.

When you use a website that hosts incredible amounts of stripping models, it can be hard not to look. Whether it’s for your own sexy time, to find ideas and inspiration, or to befriend fellow models, you will most likely visit another girls chat. In doing this, most of us compare our own bodies to our smaller, smarter, more ravishing camming counterparts, which can be damaging to our own self-image.

photography of woman wearing santa hat
Photo by Igor Starkov on Pexels.com

Pro: learning your body is a confidence boost.

A big reason I enjoyed camming was that I learned so much about my own body. Learning how to make myself genuinely cum, my likes and dislikes, made me more confident in my real life.

Con: your income may not be what you expected.

Okay, so maybe the start is a little slower than you thought, and you’re discouraged by your cash flow. It’s hard not to equate tips and self worth, but remember your profits are not only determined by your attractiveness, but also by your hours punched, promotions, networks ect.
Related: Make More Money

Pro: someone is paying you to be your sexy self!

No matter what your income is though, you need to remember someone is paying you because you’re hot. Talk about a confidence boost.

Thank you for reading todays post. With Christmas quickly approaching, I hope you’re taking this time to be with family, eat good meals, and dress up in sexy Christmas lingerie on camera.

Interview: Evanu on Viewing Cams

Welcome back to the blog. Today we’re diving into another interview, but this time with a viewer.

So, you’re a viewer who hasn’t cammed in his life?

Evanu: Oh yes. Good thing too. I hate to think where the Lovense would have to go.

What kind of cam categories are your favorites? (ie, couples, trans, single female/male ect.)

Evanu: I feel honoured and privileged to be in the bedrooms of the single females. I respect them as being younger and often quite lovely. This is wonderfully supportive of my orientation and it makes me feel more manly.

What makes a cam model special?

Evanu: I look for personality, style, freshness and creativity. I like interacting with positive and playful models who seem present and responsive. Life force is important for me and I enjoy models who appear to love what they are doing. Especially when they are experiencing release through orgasm. This is a visual gift different than any other types of media since it is live, personal and interactive.

What makes cams better than porn? (if you consider them to be, and if not, what makes porn better?)

Evanu: Oh, there are a lot of things. Top on my list is the aspect of how relaxed the models are in their own environment. They are self managed, directed and often quite disciplined. I feel that this venue provides many opportunities for self discovery and personal growth. Over all, I think it is a wonderful form of adult entertainment.

Do you consider watching cam models to be cheating?

Evanu: This is a great question. The answer would depend on the deeper motive for visiting. If a person is in a relationship with a close partner with whom they are having sex, I feel it is important that a man to be able to stand in his own reality and discuss this with his partner at some point. Living in a state of hiding, cheating and being mousy about one’s life and sexuality shows a weakness of character and personal integrity. But, discretion is important, too. It is important to consider your partner’s feelings before sharing, and know how to approach something that may be a sensitive and touchy issue. This also, I feel, may be valuable for opening discussion with her on topics that relate to human sexuality and eroticism.

What is the importance of tipping? /how much do you feel is an appropriate amount?

Evanu: I have never heard the phrase “Thank You!” used to often. Tipping is something that males need to consider wisely and must understand who or what is in control. One can tip over into debt quite easily, while another stays in the background absorbing visuals and never providing support for the models. The same is true for other media. I feel this is something each patron must decide for themselves based on how much they can afford and budget, and how they might choose to approach the venue. There are thousands of models available at any given time. How does one decide who to visit and support with tips, and why? There are also questions of control. Seasoned models know how to draw tips from naive visitors.  I think each person who enjoys the venue must recon with this issue at some point and learn to control themselves. This will lead to more consistent and enjoyable viewing, I believe. It is an important aspect of the male psyche to protect, support and maintain his household and friends. If I connect with a model and spend time in her bedroom I tip continuously but modestly as fits my budget. I am finding that it feels better to support a few rather than running around exploring new territory and squandering my resources. As far as an appropriate amount. Many models suggest a price list for what they are prepared to deliver. I think one should honor them when asking for services but never be afraid to negotiate. It is clear that models tend to be quite generous. We should respond in kind with someone we admire and respect.
(Check out Evanu’s blog post on tippingThis was my personal favourite)
————————

& of course a little self promo- tell me about your blog (when it started/why you started it/it’s goals & purpose)

Evanu: Having been a life coach for sex workers for many years I have come to view the camming venue as one worthy of support and positive input. I feel I have valuable resources to contribute to those who engage interactively there. I enjoy seeing others engage in self discovery and sharing their knowledge and experiences, especially when I have had a hand in their process as a facilitator.

What is the beautiful peoples project?

Evanu: The Beautiful People Project is about perfecting relationships and personal power. How we arrive at these things is very much a function of support groups of people who bring their best selves forward to share their wisdom and experience to increase stature, grace and elegance in their lives. The presence of these elements in a person’s life leads to greater and greater levels of happiness, satisfaction and joy coming from a place of personal self worth and giving.
Thank you Evanu for reaching out to me, and collaborating with me to do an interview from the perspective of a cam viewer.

C2C

Cam to cam, commonly abbreviated to “c2c” is when person a has person b’s chatroom open on their screen, and vice versa. Here’s what you need to know:

The first time someone asked me to go c2c, his response was “wow, you actually did it”. Honestly, I didn’t even view his cam, but he had received the notification that in another tab, I had opened his chatroom, and hadn’t immediately left it. I had it open on my lap top, paying no mind to it but he was unaware of my disinterest, and took gratification in the thought of me watching him.

person holding chocolate bar near laptop

For the record though, had he tipped me to do it, I would’ve engaged in his cam. If you’re being paid to go cam to cam, it’s always a good idea to type in their chat room, and comment on how sexy they are (or how small their dick is- I’ve been paid to do that too). For a beginner, 50 tokens for 5 minutes seems to be the going rate. As you become a more watched, and in-demand cam model, your prices rise with your popularity.

This has been a very short blog post, but I thought it was time I added a post to my “Technically Speaking” category. Thanks for the read, and I will see you next week.

What Cam Models Can’t Do

When I was a cam model, I once had a guy offer to tip me in exchange for peeing on camera. While I declined for personal reasons, I didn’t know at the time that if I had done that, I could’ve ended up suspended or banned from the site. Chaturbate, like all sites, have policies that disallow you to do certain things on camera. Here are the ones you should know:

  1. Drugs- Do them off camera.
  2. A Minor Appearing on Screen- Not only can they ban you for this, but they can also contact authorities in your region.
  3. Beastiality- This includes inanimate objects shaped like animals.
  4. “Goatse”- Stretching your asshole excessively wide.
  5. IRL Prostitution- Stay safe, my loves.
  6. Broadcasting in Public- You can broadcast outside, though, as long as it’s on private property that can’t be seen from other properties.
  7. Bodily Fluids- To quote the terms and conditions on the site, “Displays or reference to menstruation, vomit, feces, or urine are not permitted.”
  8. Multiple Men Cumming on a Woman’s Face- Self-explanatory?
  9. Incest- Lot’s of people fantasize about it, but don’t do it.
  10. Intoxicated- Gotta be sober, girlfriend.
  11. Re-directing to Third Parties- You can’t even type the word “Skype” on Chaturbate, your message won’t send it if has that word in it.
  12. Sleeping- whether real or not, you can’t show anybody sleeping on camera.

If you’re looking to do, or see these things, maybe check out a porn site? Thanks for reading! See you next week.

6 Common Scams

Pretending to be a Family Member

Personally, this one hasn’t happened to me, but other models have talked about it. It’s also not so much a scam, but more of a stupid trick designed to rattle you. Essentially, a person enters your chat room pretending to be a family member of yours, freaking out that they’ve found you.

Photoshopped Gift Receipts

If you use Amazon as a payment method, this will guaranteed happen to you. Somebody will say they’ve sent you a gift, and produce a fake receipt to prove it. It’s easy to do this, either by using photoshop, or by actually buying the item then cancelling the order. For this reason, it’s best to only accept gift cards and purchase items yourself.

Password Show

Once you start camming, you’ll be advertised as being a new cam model, making you a prime target for this scam. Somebody will come on and tell you a word that’ll “promote your show”, when in all actuality you’re setting up a password show. Check the link for Password Shows vs. Private Shows.

Profile Designer Scam

It won’t be long before you want your cam page to look pretty & professional. To achieve this, you’re going to need a profile designer. If someone says they need to log into your account to set this up, they’re lying and they’re going to send themselves your tokens. Profile designers will actually send you a code that you will copy and paste into your bio- no password required.

Location-tracking Links

A new scam, and the most dangerous. It works like this: somebody sends you a link, and on your end it doesn’t seem to work. On theirs, they receive your location. Easy black mail material.

“Do This & I’ll Send a Good Tip”

And of course, who could forget the most classic of scams? You won’t make it a week of camming without seeing the infamous like “Do *insert thing that definitely requires a tip* and I’ll send a crazy amount of tokens.” Obviously, the tokens never come.

Thanks for reading! Shout out to an extra special (and extra sexy) reader whose birthday is tomorrow. Check back next week for another post.

Lots of love,

When Your Job is to Masturbate

Your job is to masturbate, and while that’s as awesome as it sounds, it can be difficult to keep things hot and heavy. Here’s a quick list of tips to get you through hours of touching yourself.

  1. Invest in lube.

Do it. Do it. Nobody can stay wet forever, and your vagina will thank you. Here’s a super helpful resource for picking out the right kind for your needs.

  2. While you’re investing: sex toy cleaner.
This one isn’t a method of keeping things lubricated, but I thought it was important enough to make the list. Assumably, you’ll be using toys. Stay sanitary, ladies and gentlemen.
  3. Have a partner help you out.
You get paid for sending nudes, but whose sending you private photos? Before going online, or while you’re on, consider have someone in your real life get you in the mood. I’ve known girls who’ve had their boyfriends sext them as they’re performing to help keep them feeling sexy. Not a bad idea, in my opinion.

    grayscale photo of naked woman

  4. No partner? No problem.
Porn! Or in my case, erotica! I have a private tumblr account devoted to it, and that was all I ever needed to get me good and prepared for some hot alone time. Thank you, internet.

For safety tips, click here. Don’t forget: if it goes in your butt, it shouldn’t go in your vagina, or mouth afterward & always pee after vaginal penetration. Happy masturbating. Stay wet, friends.

Amy

Making Money Offline

You’ve turned the camera off, you’ve got somewhere to be. Great news, you can still profit. Here’s a list of ways to make money while offline.

Sell Your Snapchat

Here’s how: Make a photo collection for tokens, making the second photo an image with your Snapchat username over it. Chaturbate will show the first photo as a preview of the image set, so I used the Snapchat logo.

Sell Your Nudes

Like selling your snapchat, you can do this by selling a photo set on your profile. Anyone who checks your account when your offline will have the opportunity to purchase your sexy pictures.

Fan Clubs

Members of your Fan Club should get special access to your content. Examples of this would be your photo collections, social media, customized videos, panties ect.

Sell Your Used Underwear

Speaking of panties, you can sell ’em. You can’t sell them through Chaturbate, but you can sell through another site and link it to your twitter & camming accounts. Be sure to use a website that is designed for this as most buy and sell websites do not allow used underwear to be sold.

Thanks for reading! Check back next week for a post on masturbation.

Interview: Rosie Hennessy

1. Who are you? (Stage name/Identity)
I’m Rosie Hennessy. I identify as bisexual with a preference to ladies.

2. How did you discover camming?
Well, I found out my partner has viewed cams in the past. Because I thought camming was only privates, I felt cheated on. Later I found out public chatrooms existed and that he’d never cheated in the first place. It was quite the drama.

3. What makes you different from other cam models?
I partake in the little kink. So I dress up like a little girl and act like one too. Guys really enjoy it and will try and be the highest tipper so you’ll call them daddy.

Little Kink Note: Most “littles” don’t act young 24/7, but when they do slip into their age regressed alter ego it’s called slipping into a “headspace”.

Rosie Hennessy- Cam Model for Chaturbate.com

4. What tips do you have for new users?
Find something that makes you unique and play it up. Don’t be afraid to stand your ground. Never give away your name and location. Only get Snapchat if you’re prepared to work a lot.

5. What is the most outrageous thing someone has asked of you/done?
I had people really obsessed with the idea of getting off with their siblings. It was weird. They would message me and say “they were both watching me together”.

6. How has camming influenced your self image?
For the most part I think it’s improved it. It’s good to know people think I’m hot. I will say sometimes (especially with snapchat) I felt like a piece of meat. Overall though, I’d say it gave me some more self confidence.

A huge thank you to Rosie for talking about her camming experience with me for this blog. Be sure to check back next week for a post on making money when you’re offline.

Pt 2: What I Would Do Differently

To catch you up to speed, I’m considering going back to being a cam model. Click HERE to see Part One. Here’s what I’d do differently the second time around:

Social Media

I’d keep Twitter. Actually, I think I would use the same Twitter as I use now for this blog to promote the site to cam clients. I’m pretty unsure about that, but what I’m positive about is that I would never download Snapchat again. If you have read my older posts, you know that I hated that app, as it made me feel like I was constantly working. It was home of the unsolicited dick pics, and dudes who thought they’d bought a cyber-girlfriend.

Standing Out

The last time I cammed, I spent most of my shows on my rug in my bedroom. Sure, I did okay with my Lovense shows, and such but I didn’t have anything that made me stand out from the other girls. This time I plan to get a pole and put it to good use. Another idea I had is having another person (who isn’t Rosie) come on screen with me for a couples show.

Private Message

I had a really bad habit of responding to my regulars in the private message, even when they hadn’t paid for it. It took my attention off the main screen, and there were times where it felt overwhelming to flip back and forth through the people messaging me. This time around, I vow to only open the private messages if they’ve been paid for.

What did you think? Ex-cam models, what would you change about your experience camming? Check back next week for an interview from a fellow cam girl.

Pt 1: Pros & Cons of Camming

I’m considering going back to camming. I’ve been putting a lot of thought into the things I would do differently, and the pros and cons of the job in an effort to figure out if this is right for me.

fashion art coffee macbook pro

Con: Some nights it feels like it takes forever to get started. For whatever reason, there will be nights that are dead, especially after you’re no longer showing up as being a new broadcaster. I mean, sure, it gets better once you develop a good following, but there are simply nights that aren’t worth your time.

Pro: With my busy life, I wouldn’t be able to find a second job that tends to my schedule. With camming, I can work when I need to. Working from home is a major bonus as well.

Con: I’ve talked about “the circle jerk” in previous posts, but it wouldn’t be a pro and con list about camming without bringing it up. It isn’t like I didn’t expect to be objectified- I knew what I was signing up for. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t get irritating when you see “I deserve to see pussy xx” and your fifth dick pic in ten minutes on your screen.

Pro: On the other hand of that, you will undoubtably be showered in compliments. I’d be lying if I said a piece of me didn’t eat up being called “beautiful” and “gorgeous” every time I logged in.

Con: A weird thing about being a cam model that nobody seems to talk about: there is constantly people messaging you trying to give you advice. Everything you offer is too cheap, or too expensive. Someone always has an idea to get you more views. Truly, the constant stream of people correcting your stream gets exhausting, and if I do go back to being a cam model, it’s something I’d need to start ignoring.

Pro: You’re constantly touching and edging yourself for an extended period of time. Some of my best orgasms have happened on camera, or shortly after it’s turned off.

I’m still undecided, but I’ll be sure to keep you all updated. Check back next week for part two: what I would do differently. Thanks for reading!

Lovense Sex Toys

If you’ve looked around at other cam rooms, you’ve probably realized that a lot of people use a sex toy called “lovense”. I have personally used it, and think it’s an easy, and fun way to make your cash.

What is it?

There are multiple types of toys you can purchase, such as Lush (the most common on camera), Hush (see Butt Safety!), Domi (personal favourite), and more. The toy connects wirelessly to your chat room, and will vibrate as the people in your room tip. The toy also gives you a code that allows someone else to control its vibration patterns via their personal electronic device. You can sell this code, or give it to the person who tipped the most through the show. I found this to be the best method, because it kept people interested, and almost made it a competition.

How much should you charge?

As with anything, you can charge what you want! Here’s what appears to be the “going rate”:

1-14 low 3 seconds
15-49 med 6 seconds
50-99 med 10 seconds
100-499 high 60 seconds
500-999 ultra high 60 seconds
999+ ultra high 200 seconds

Where can you get your own?

Glad you asked. Click HERE. Honestly, Lovense makes making money easy, and I recommend it strongly. Thanks for reading!

The Time I (Kinda) Did Porn

I always knew that having my cam show recorded and re-uploaded on a pornography website was a possibility. I didn’t, however, think it would happen to me when I first started, when I had only a thousand followers. One Friday, a regular of mine messaged me a link to a video of one of shows on a website I hadn’t heard of before. You could see images from the show, but would have to pay to view the whole video, which meant that whoever had taken my video was now profiting from my work. And not only that, but I had no control over who could see the video, as there was no way to geoblock.

woman wearing pink top
Photo by Moose Photos on Pexels.com

I was sick to my stomach. I messaged my flatmate, Rosie, who was also a cam girl, and she too found herself on this website. I emailed the support centre, but never did receive a reply, nor were the videos ever removed.  Rosie decided to fill out a form to have the video taken down, which is when she read that the website harbouring our videos was actually a network site of Chaturbates. This meant that the site that employed us was also recording us, and selling our content without paying us those profits.

So what can you do about this? There is an option in your settings to make it so that network sites can’t sell your videos. The downfall of this, however, is that you aren’t advertised nearly as well, and certain users simply aren’t capable of accessing your cam room. You have to take your pick: do you want less viewers and to have a company profit from your content, or do you want to stay off network sites and struggle with your rooms traffic? If you don’t want to appear on network sites:
Settings & Privacy > Appear on Network Sites > No
Additionally, if you play music in the background of your shows, a lot of websites won’t be able to post it (at least with sound) due to copyright issues.

Personally, I started off horrified of what was going to happen with these videos out there, but thankfully nothing has to date. Once I was done being sick to my stomach, I went back to the videos and took screenshots of the photos they used to advertise the videos. Now I have some sick ass nudes.

I hope you learned lots, and enjoyed todays post. Catch me next week with a post on being gay whilst being a cam model!

Love always,
Amy

The 7 Types of Viewers

In my experience as a cam model, I’ve learned there are seven types of people who will watch you on camera. Here’s what it comes down to:

1. The Kayla

When I was on camera, there was this one user named Kayla who regularly watched me. She always brought up lesbian sex, taboo sex acts while on your period, and other things pertaining to her infatuation with womanhood. She also commonly asked for free things, claiming it would be okay to show her for free because she was a woman. A reverse image search on Google would show her profile photo was taken from Google images, and “she” was almost definitely a man pretending to be a woman for his own pleasure.

2. The “Send Pussy xxx” Guy

First and foremost, this guy is a total idiot. He’s in his early 20’s, he has his daddy’s credit card, and an attitude that the world owes him something. He will throw money at you, but you wonder if that’s so you’ll do what he wishes, or if he just wants to prove that he has the money to do it. He’ll send you messages such as “I have a big tip waiting for you if you send me that pussy xxx” or “I’ve already given you so much, I deserve this x”. You feel the need to deal with him because he pays, but he is near intolerable.

3. The Guy Who Bought a Girlfriend

Some people go to cam websites looking for a way to get off. Others visit these sites looking for someone to talk to, someone that will play the part of a girlfriend for the right price. This guy will eagerly buy your snapchat, and then never leave you alone. They want to know where you are, how you slept, and if you’ll send them a photo of you blowing a kiss. If only someone would show they how to download Tinder.

4. The Chaperone

The Chaperone is almost exclusively older men who have somehow stumbled upon this website. They tend to be respectful, and actively police your chatroom to ensure nobody is saying anything too vulgar. Often times, they aren’t even interested in talking dirty at all, and would rather talk about literature, and science. You love this guy for giving you a break from the hyper-sexualization of your room but his presence ultimately brings down your cash flow.

5. The Actual Creep

One of the main reasons I quit being a cam model. He took a particular interest in me because he lived in the city I was pretending to live in. Because of this, he would actively search for me in public. I wasn’t in the city he believed me to be, so I was safe but nonetheless it taught me a lesson that there will always be people who take things too far.

6. A Typical Grey

A “grey user” is someone who doesn’t have any tokens, but still wants the benefits of spending them. They make demands, and beg you to show them your body, then usually get frustrated and rude when you don’t. Not all grey users carry this mindset, but the ones who do probably make up the majority, explaining why some models have their settings so that grey users can’t speak in the chat rooms at all.

7. The Ones Who Make It Fun

Finally, to complete this list is the good guys. Your regulars who visit your chat room to compliment you and make it fun. These guys are respectful, tip for requests, and have no issue telling off rude users who circle in. They make your life as a cam model fun, and are the reason you do what you do. Be sure to thank them from time to time.

Did I miss any? Be sure to let me know if I did! See you next week for a post dedicated to the time I (kinda) did porn.

Butt Safety

Let’s talk about anal! Below are some quick tips to safely masturbating with your butt.

Less Pain, More Gain

  • Lube, lube, and even more (water-based) lube. It’s something you hear often, and it’s with good reason that you do. Trust me, lube will make your experience so much better.
  • Start slow! Put small things in your butt before putting anything of significant size in there. And no matter what you put in there, be sure it has a base. I don’t need any of you ending up in the ER because a toy got stuck in your butt.
  • Fingernails hurt. Cut them.

“Cum” Prepared

Before your first anal show, make sure you figure it out off camera. You need time to figure out works for you without the pressure of your audience. Furthermore, just because you’re nervous, doesn’t mean you should get drunk or high to try this out.

“Don’t just be drunk or under some sort of substance and just trying to get it in there. That’s how a lot of women end up hating anal sex because you tend to be tensed up and not working with the process.” -Doctor Van Kirk

How To Not Give Yourself an Infection

Once something goes in your butt, it does not go anywhere else in your body. It does not go in your vagina. It does not go in your mouth. It does not go near your eyes. Repeat: once something goes in your butt, it does not go anywhere else in your body. This also goes for your fingers since bacteria can be trapped under your nails, no matter how short they are. Wash your hands thoroughly!

Clean all toys well, and use condoms over dildos. If a toy is used in your butt, it is now an anal toy. Buy something else for vaginal simulation. Please.

Be sure to check back next week for another post. Get excited because it’s a list of show ideas (you’re welcome).

& again, don’t put anything in your butt without a base.
Love always,
Amy

Socializing Naked

I’m going to start this article off with a quick burst of honesty. As an online model, I hated social media, and couldn’t stand to use anything but Twitter. Sure, it’s quick and seemingly easy money, but it makes it so that your viewers can contact you at any point in your day, instead of just when you’re on camera. This led me to feeling like I was constantly working, and ultimately caused me to dread the sound of SnapChat notifications. Here’s a few quick tips to make social media as a cam girl less about working 24/7, and more about creating a more fun and intimate experience for your clients.

Twitter

Twitter is the #1 social media used by models, and viewers. It’s relatively common that cam models have a free account, where they can post when their viewing or if there’s any change to their schedules. It can also be a great way to interact with your followers, without getting too involved (ie. surveys, like this tweet if..”). The key to this, however, is to ignore your direct messages. Save the one on one conversations for paid content, otherwise everyone will just use your free platform. Wouldn’t you?

SnapChat

If you haven’t already figured out, I despised SnapChat. It was ten dick pics in a row followed by a black screen with the words “Show pussy. I got a big tip waiting for u so I deserve it xx” written across it. Repeat. To avoid this, set extremely clear boundaries about your expectations. For example:

SnapChat is 369 tokens. No dick pics, or demands… unless they’re asked for 😉 Snap you soon!

My flatmate, who was also an online model, would only check her social media 6 days of the week. She said it was a crucial part in keeping her from feeling like her job revolved around her part time job as a cam girl. Furthermore, for no reason should you ever feel guilty for deleting someone who does not respect your boundaries.

Instagram

I didn’t actually use Instagram as a model, so perhaps I don’t have a whole lot of room to talk about it. Here’s what I know from checking out other models accounts, and from talking with those who used it. Not many people will pay to follow your Instagram, as they usually feel they can just see you naked in the chat room. If they’re paying for the platform, clients will typically want to use something where they can chat with you.

Skype

Treat Skype as a platform for private shows. Take the money upfront, and make sure to keep an eye on the time so that you aren’t giving more than they paid for. Also, it’s worth noting that Chaturbate will not let you send messages containing the word Skype. If a customer is inquiring, insert a space between each letter so the algorithm doesn’t pick up on what you’re trying to communicate.

Email

Not really a social media, but it seemed relevant enough to include it. Since you have to make an email to set up any social media for your online persona, you might as well use it. Email is an awesome way to arrange privates, and you can attach it to your Amazon account to know when someone has purchased an item from your wish list.

A Couple More Quick Tips

  1. Remember this is your job. Stay professional, and don’t use any social media to rant. It’s not a cute look.
  2. You can make deals! If your social medias went for 400 tokens ea., why not sell two together for 600? Even in the cam world, people love a good Buy One, Get One 50%
  3. Turn off your push notifications so that messages from your clients aren’t appearing on your phone screen. You wouldn’t want someone from your real life to see that, and say “who’s messaging you?”
  4. As Rosie says, “know your value plus tax”. It can be hard to pick a price for your social media, as you want to start off more inexpensive and increase price upon increased demand. Try your best not to undercharge!

Social media can be a lot of fun, and is a fantastic way to get to know your viewers. It’s also an effective way to let them know about changes in your schedule, or any other relevant information. It’s totally up to you what you want to use, and how you want to use it! I hope you enjoyed this post, and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. (It’s about butts!!)

*Read This Post*

The most important post so far. Read this for safety tips!

Many of my fans don’t know that one of the main reasons I quit being a cam model so abruptly was that I had a pretty scary experience. One regular of mine insisted on meeting in person, even if it was just for coffee. I set clear boundaries, and made it very apparent that this wouldn’t happen but he insisted on it. Believing he knew what city I was in, he started going places that he thought I frequented in an attempt to see me in person. If I posted something about McDonalds, he would shortly after send a photo of himself in a McDonalds upset that he had missed me. He once visited the university that he thought I belonged to and even went to approach a girl who apparently looked like me. Obviously, I blocked him, and never went near the city he believed I lived in. Nonetheless, the experience stuck with me. I didn’t have a huge following, and this still happened to me. It happens. Taking precautions to stay safe online is so important, especially in this industry. Here are some super important tips about staying safe as an online model.

1. Use a fake name

I’ve met cam models who use their real first names, but don’t give out their last. Not good enough. In fact, a lot of models not only use a fake name, but also have a fake real name ready to give to their special clients to give them a false sense of intimacy. Under no circumstance should you give your real name to anybody you meet through the site.

2. Hide your location

If you’re using Chaturbate, your province or state is automatically on your bio. To remove it:

Bio > Edit Your Bio > Location*

Backspace what is written there, and type to change it. I changed mine to “Canada” but a lot of models will just write something funny there. It’s up to you but I advice against having your state or province published there, especially if you’re from a smaller region.

If you use SnapChat, be sure to turn off your location from maps as well. To do this:

Settings > Who Can… > See My Location > Enable Ghost Mode

Be aware of the things you talk about on camera as well. Things to avoid talking about as it could give away hints of your whereabouts include significant weather, locally owned shops, nearby schools, events ect.

3. Geoblock

What if someone in your area watches your cam room, and then happens to run into you in public? To avoid this uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous situation, you can block users access to your rooms if they’re from certain locations by using their IP address. On Chaturbate, you can do this by:

Settings & Privacy > Broadcaster Settings > Block access to users in these countries: OR Block access to users in these regions: > select desired locations.

Personally, I blocked the province I lived in, but also the province I was raised in so that family members couldn’t accidentally find me.

Note: your shows can be recorded and re-uploaded on other sites, and you will have no way of geo blocking this material. There will be a blog devoted to Network sites soon!

Of course, these are just three ways to safe. There are many others, such as using a fake birthday, and never meeting up with anyone in real life. Thank you for reading this important post, and I hope to see you for a special interview next week!

Amy

Periods & Public Masturbation

I once knew this girl who referred to her period as her “Shark Week”, which I thought was both hilarious and cleaver. A couple of us even got her a little bag with a photo of “Jaws” on it to keep her sanitary items in. Welcome to your quick guide on surviving your period as an online performer, inspired by sharks.

Take a Week Off

While this solution may be the best route for models who are new to the business, it doesn’t always work for those who are more well known, and have already gained a sizeable following.

Hide It

The trick most cam girls use is simple. Take the string of your tampon, and tuck it in. Do not cut it. With this trick, you can still do clitoral, anal shows- anything that doesn’t involve vaginal penetration.

Change Your Birth Control

There are some birth controls that cause you to have your period once every three months, or not at all. Talk to your doctor for more information, and to find out if this is an option for you.

Own It

Not something I’ve ever done, but there are plenty of girls who add #period to the title of their show, and continue on as normal. There’s a market for everything when it comes to the sex industry.
PS. You should always thoroughly clean your sex toys after each use, but pay extra special attention when on your period.

(Note: this is technically against Chaturbate’s policy, as they disallow mentions of menstruation.)

Sea Sponge

I’ve never personally met anyone who uses a sea sponge, but this is a common trick used in the porn industry. The two key things to remember when doing this: A make up sponge can not substitute a sea sponge, and you must boil the sponge first. Also, make sure you are totally comfortable taking it out before you put it in. That would be one awkward trip to the doctor!

Make More Money 101

Want to make more money as a cam girl? I’ve complied a list using my personal experience, and advice from other cam models about how to do just that.

bills capital cash cent

Make More Money as a Cam Girl

Build a Schedule

Okay, so you have to do more than just making a schedule. You have to actually follow through with it. Some of the most successful cam models prepare a schedule up to a month in advance, and get their audience excited for the shows to come by promoting it on their social medias, and reminding their followers in the chat.

Don’t forget that there’s a bondage show happening Monday night at 7pm!”

“Be sure to come back tomorrow night for the Lush show”

Clothes On

It’s no secret that viewers come to your room wanting to see you naked. If you’re already naked, and masturbating, what incentive do they have to pay you? That’s why I recommend saving your full frontal nudity for privates, paid social media, and when token goals are achieved. Similarly, if somebody asks you to do something, like showing your feet for example, kindly let them know that they need to tip first.

Token Goals: also known as “Countdowns” or “Tip Goals”, is when a model sets a monetary goal in exchange for a service. (ie. 2,000 tokens to orgasm)

Praise Your High Tippers

If you look at other models rooms, you may notice that a majority have their highest tippers usernames attached to their profiles. Thank everyone who tips you, but pay extra attention to those who tip you well. Being public about appreciating your Tip Kings will let potential tippers know that this is the way to get your attention.

Spend Time in the Free Chat

Nobody likes a cam model that sits on their phone, ignoring their users until they reach their tip goal is reached. If you want regulars, consider spending time chatting with your viewers in the free chat. Play up your persona, and make yourself as likeable and interesting as can be.

Pro tip: If nobody is talking, sing or dance along to your music. Prompt your viewers by asking them questions about themselves.

“Using my Lush helped me a lot with making money. It’s an essential!” -Rosie

Were these tips helpful? What did we miss? Thank you so much for the read! Be sure to check back next Friday for a blog in honour of Shark Week!

Interview: Chaturbate Profile Designer

Welcome to the first post of the Interviews series! To start things off, I decided to reach out to the man who coded for me when I was a cam model. Meet Jonny, better known as leedsladlooking4 on Chaturbate.

code coding computer data

What is coding?

Html code is used to create electronic documents that are displayed on the web. Pages can contain a series of connections to other pages called hyperlinks. It can also be used to display hosted pictures.

Why is it important that cam models having coding on their pages?

I believe the best way for a cam model to be successful is to create a brand, much like any other business. And having a nice colourful and informative page is a great way to achieve this.

How much do you charge?

I charge 1000 tokens to create a profile, for that I include future updates such as birthdays/competitions/fan club members adding etc

*1000 tokens is equal to $50.00

How long does it take you?

A really intricate profile can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.

When you coded for me, you didn’t ask for my password. Is there any reason a profile designer would need to sign in as the model?

No, and they shouldn’t unless they trust their guy a lot. I had one girl ask me to log into her account to set up apps and bots but I believe it is something Chaturbate has a policy against. It’s not needed for the bio code. That is just a simple copy and paste at the models end.

What is your favourite thing to code?

The pages that have lots of information on them, sometimes a profile can look a little bare if there is not much to work from.

Anything you would like to add?

I think Chaturbate is a great site to meet interesting people, and see boobs while you are doing it!

I highly recommend that whether you’re new or experienced in the industry, you check out Jonny’s page. In my experience, he has been nothing but respectful, and his work is among the best to chose from. Check out examples of Jonny’s work, or visit his twitter to inquire about his services.

Get More Clicks

One of your goals as a cam model is to get as many views as possible. Why? Because more viewers equals more tip potential. Here’s a quick guide to getting more users in your chat room.

How to Get More Views

top view of man holding android smartphone near macbook and newspaper

Posing Perfection

Cam websites take a “screenshot” of you every 30 seconds, and use that photo to advertise your chatroom on their main page. For this reason, you have to be very aware of what you’re doing, and the positions that you’re in. I was on camera one night, and realized that all the girls being advertised were all laying down. So by standing up, and offering something different to potential clients, my view count nearly doubled.

Timing

Picking the perfect times to get online can be tricky. Times with more audience traffic usually comes with more cam models being online, thus making it less likely for your camera to be chosen. Try a couple times of the day to see what works best for you. Personally, I found the weekends to always be busiest.

#Hashtag

A really great way to help users find you is by using hashtags in your chat room title. The top 10 hashtags that appear to be most commonly used are

  1. #asian
  2. #young
  3. #naked
  4. #lush or #lovesense
  5. #anal
  6. #18 or #teen
  7. #squirt
  8. #bigboobs
  9. #cum
  10. #new

*Quick tip: If you start a bot in your chat room, it will remove the hashtags from your title. Make sure to add them back after the bot is going!

Your Following

This last tip for getting views isn’t necessarily one I would recommend, but one I’ve seen work for other cam models. The idea is that the more followers you have, the more views you will have in the future since those following you have the link to your chatroom automatically saved in a special tab. How do you get guaranteed followers? By offering a full frontal nudity show in the free chat. Will you get more followers, and hence more views? Sure. Will you get paid for that show? Not really. Will you get lots of people who expect you to do such shows for free every time? Probably.

Thanks for reading. Let me know what tips and tricks I missed.

Special Announcement Time

I’m so excited to be introducing a new series to the website. Interviews! In this series, I will be interviewing cam models, and those with direct experiences with them. An interview will be posted the first Friday of every moth, so be sure to stay tuned. In the first blog of this series, you’ll meet Jonny, an interesting, and tech savvy gentleman who does coding for cam models on Chaturbate. See it first!

Q&A on Money

pink and white ceramic pig coin bank

Let’s be real. Some of us only get involved in this industry for the money. Those of us who are in it for another reason still recognize that the possibly of making good money is a major bonus. In this blog we’re going to go over some things you should know when making money as a cam model.

Money: The Technical Shit

Q: How much can I expect to make as a cam girl?

A: It’s near impossible to estimate how much you can expect to make as a cam model since it ranges so dramatically. As a person who put in mediocre effort, and broadcasted a few nights a week, I made $600CAD biweekly. That was my personal experience, but just because you make a different amount does not make you any better or worse. There are slow weeks online, and sometimes you get really lucky with who joins your chat.

Q: How much money am I actually making?

A: Cam websites have their users purchase tokens. Said tokens are typically bought in bundles, and are used by the viewers to tip their favourite broadcasters. While I can’t speak for other platforms, the website I used paid models 5 cents for each token they were tipped. So, if a model were to make 1,000 tokens, they’ve just made $50.

1,000 x 0.05 = 50

Q: Someone offered to pay me outside of tokens. Should I accept?

A: You will come across people who say they want you to profit entirely from their tips, rather than having the website take a portion. While this may seem nice, be very cautious of accepting money in any form other than tokens.

-Don’t use pay pal. It states clearly in their guidelines that pay pal is not for such use, and if caught your account will be closed.

-Don’t ever accept direct e-transfers. You never want a client to have any kind of access to your real life information, no matter how well you think you know them.

-If you’re reading this, I assume you care about your personal safety. For this reason, I think my next point is redundant but I’ll just throw it in anyway. People have offered to meet up to pay me huge amounts in cash, and I’ve always declined. If you ever receive such an offer, please be smart. No matter the promised pay, always decline any real life interaction.

-It is okay, however, to accept Amazon gift cards under an account made for your cam model persona. Just make sure that you receive, and claim the gift card before providing your service since gift cards can be retracted.

Q: What about taxes?
A: The thing about having a typical job is that taxes are automatically deducted from your pay cheque. This is not the case for cam girls, and no, it isn’t because you don’t have to pay them. I recommend putting away a fourth of every pay cheque to have ready for the government when tax season comes around. It’ll suck when you see how much you have to put away, but you’ll thank me for this later. Besides, you’ll most likely end up putting away more money than you needed to, and this will essentially be a tax return.

If you were hoping this blog post was going to be less about the technical side of things, and more about increasing your monetary flow, don’t worry! That blog is only a few weeks away. Be sure to check next week for tips and tricks on getting more views. There will also be a special announcement so be sure to check it out!

Before You Become a Cam Model

adult alluring attractive beautiful
Photo by Valeria Boltneva on Pexels.com

So, you’re thinking of becoming a cam girl? Great. Here is a brief list of things to consider, and things to do before you get started.

Some Things to Think About First

Your job.

This is arguably the most important thing to consider. While becoming an online model is a legal and valid way of making extra income, not all employers will view it that way. If you work with children, politics, or anything of the sorts, perhaps being a cam model is too risky.

Your clients.

When it comes to the men watching you, some moral conflicts can occur. A lot of them are married, and aren’t shy about it. Some will even want you to talk about their wives, or pretend she just caught him cheating. It’s a fantasy that you have to be willing to play along with. Aside from cheating clients, you also need to be aware that some men seem to be under the impression that they are “buying a girlfriend” and will want to always be in contact with you. Most importantly, you need to be aware that some clients will attempt to locate you. While there are plenty of precautions you can take to keep yourself safe, this will always be a risk.

Your time.

A lot of the appeal in working in this industry is that you get to make your own schedule. While this is true, being a cam girl will still take a lot of your time. To be successful, you’re going to need to make a regular schedule, and engage in social media while you aren’t on the clock. Snapchat was the demise of my cam model career, as it made me feel like I was constantly working.

Before You Start

Still want to become a cam girl? Glad to hear- there are lots of perks to the job. Here are some things you need to do before starting.

Social Media

Lock it down. Update your Facebook settings so that people can not search your name. Make your Instagram private and detach your real name to the account. Change your Snapchat username to a nickname. The last thing you want is for someone to accidentally stumble upon one of your personal social medias.

Social Media 2.0

When it comes to setting up social media for your cam girl persona, make sure you use an email specifically for this. Do not attach any social media to your personal email. You’re going to want an Amazon account, a Snapchat (probably), and a Twitter. Some also opt to have Skype, Kik, and Instagram but all of these are at your own digression.

Signing Up

To sign up, the website you use will need your real name, a scan of your ID, and a photo of you holding your ID close to your face. Your real information will be safe with your website.

Quick Tip: It can take a while to get verified. I remember having to re-submit my scans and photos upward of 10 times. Pay close attention to the guidelines, lighting, and angles (ie. the photo may not be accepted if admins cannot see the top of your head). It’ll happen.

I hope you enjoyed today’s blog. If you’ve decided on becoming a cam girl, good luck, be safe, and have fun! Check next week to read all about making money as a cam girl.

Amy
