Cam to cam, commonly abbreviated to “c2c” is when person a has person b’s chatroom open on their screen, and vice versa. Here’s what you need to know:
The first time someone asked me to go c2c, his response was “wow, you actually did it”. Honestly, I didn’t even view his cam, but he had received the notification that in another tab, I had opened his chatroom, and hadn’t immediately left it. I had it open on my lap top, paying no mind to it but he was unaware of my disinterest, and took gratification in the thought of me watching him.
For the record though, had he tipped me to do it, I would’ve engaged in his cam. If you’re being paid to go cam to cam, it’s always a good idea to type in their chat room, and comment on how sexy they are (or how small their dick is- I’ve been paid to do that too). For a beginner, 50 tokens for 5 minutes seems to be the going rate. As you become a more watched, and in-demand cam model, your prices rise with your popularity.
This has been a very short blog post, but I thought it was time I added a post to my “Technically Speaking” category. Thanks for the read, and I will see you next week.
If you’ve looked around at other cam rooms, you’ve probably realized that a lot of people use a sex toy called “lovense”. I have personally used it, and think it’s an easy, and fun way to make your cash.
What is it?
There are multiple types of toys you can purchase, such as Lush (the most common on camera), Hush (see Butt Safety!), Domi (personal favourite), and more. The toy connects wirelessly to your chat room, and will vibrate as the people in your room tip. The toy also gives you a code that allows someone else to control its vibration patterns via their personal electronic device. You can sell this code, or give it to the person who tipped the most through the show. I found this to be the best method, because it kept people interested, and almost made it a competition.
How much should you charge?
As with anything, you can charge what you want! Here’s what appears to be the “going rate”:
1-14 low 3 seconds 15-49 med 6 seconds 50-99 med 10 seconds 100-499 high 60 seconds 500-999 ultra high 60 seconds 999+ ultra high 200 seconds
Where can you get your own?
Glad you asked. Click HERE. Honestly, Lovense makes making money easy, and I recommend it strongly. Thanks for reading!
This week’s post was going to be on being gay as a cam model, but in all honestly I ended up needing to write it in a public space. Since there’s an older gentlemen continuously looking at my screen, I chose to take a different route and do a technical piece for you. Glancers understand that less.
When I started, I thought private’s and password shows were essentially the same. They’re not. Here’s a quick post on the difference.
When you start a password show, it kicks the audience out of your room, and they won’t be able to return until you’re off.
There is no option for your other viewers to “spy” on your show. I had viewers who were super into this idea, as it made them feel like they were getting something more exclusive. It’s a good option to bring in those kind of people.
New girls beware: When I first started, I had someone try and convince me to set a phrase in the password show section, saying that it would get me more views, as it acted as a hashtag. That didn’t make much sense to me so I didn’t do it, but in case someone is a little smarter about how they phrase it to you, just know they’re scamming you for a free show.
Money: Always take your tokens up front for these shows because you will hear “I’ll pay you in a gift” or “I want to make sure I like your show before I pay you”. That pay cheque will never come.
-When you leave for a private show, your other viewers won’t be given the boot. A message will appear across your screen to let them know you’re in a private, and they can leave your cam open if they please.
-In my opinion, private shows are where it’s at. Because you get paid by the minute, this is where you can get dirty and make your killing. And people know that this is where you get scandalous, so not only will you be collecting tokens from the primary client, but also from those paying to “spy” on the show.
-Money 2.0: The website does the work for you. If your client runs out of tokens, the private show will automatically end. There’s no guess work. It’s great.
A final note before you go: Don’t be that girl that obviously drags things out to keep them in your private show longer. It makes for bad business. Keep it subtle.
Add a minimum time requirement to your show.
Instead of asking how they are, talk dirty to them before taking off any clothes.
Instead of being neutral, prolong your fake orgasm and pretend to be edging.
Make it rain, girl, make it rain.
Check back next week for our scheduled post about being gay as a cam girl!
So here’s the deal: I had planned to do an entire week about anal on camera. I had a few ideas such as reviewing anal sex toys, bleaching your butt, and so on. The problem was that I couldn’t come up with enough material for each post, and frankly I’m simply not interested in butt stuff so I decided to drop that idea. The upside is that you guys get a bonus post out of it! Enjoy this quick blog about now pooping yourself while taking dildo anally, and on a cam website.
Not Pooping Yourself
So, you’ve decided to do an anal show, or maybe you’re reading this because you want to privately try butt things. Whatever the case, here’s a few quick tip on avoiding everyones nightmare: accidentally pooping yourself.
The #1 tip is simple. Poop a few hours before you put anything in your butt. You can’t accidentally let go of something that isn’t there. The second tip is to eat a lot of fibre, so that tip #1 is possible. Some professionals also recommend eating bland foods, rather than spicy foods to not upset your bowels.
P.S. It’s going to feel like you’re pooping yourself. Calm down, you most likely aren’t.
There’s probably going to be a camera getting some up-close and personal shots of your butt, so you want to make sure it looks clean. Obviously, the best and safest way to clean yourself up is to just shower with warm water and mild soap. Some people also chose to douche. This typically isn’t recommended, but is not harmful when done in moderation.
Okay, so now you know a little more about poop. Check back Friday for the regular post of the week!
Welcome to a brief guide to understanding your chat settings on Chaturbate. Let’s just jump right into it.
Font & Size
When you’re on camera, it can be hard to read what your viewers are saying in the free chat. To avoid some unattractive squinting, maximize the size of font, and change the colour to committing that pops out to you.
Settings > Font Size > 20pt
Settings > Chat Color > Chose your colour
On occasion, the chat may randomly turn back to the default settings. Don’t worry, it only takes a moment to change it back to your preferred settings again.
“Notify When Leaving”
A default setting of the website is to notify you whenever mods, fans, and users with tokens leaves your room. I found this to be both distracting, and annoying. To turn this off:
Settings > Notify on Leave For > No Users
You can also do this for notifying you when someone enters the room, but personally I recommend leaving it on so you can be sure to greet those users.
To add graphics to your chat type a semicolon (:), followed by a word to prompt options to chose from.
For example :tipifyoulike or :dancingBear
Removing Grey Users
“Grey users” or “Greys” are Chaturbate members who have not purchased any tokens, and therefore cannot tip you. I had a few grey regulars who were pretty respectful, and just enjoyed coming to my chat room to hang out, and enjoy the show. There are, however, a lot of grey users who demand models show their bodies, and engage in sexual acts without tips. As you can imagine, this gets pretty frustrating, so some chose to block grey users from typing in their chats. Here’s how:
Settings > Chats Allowed By: > Users who have tokens
There are a nice few ways to customize your chat. Play with your settings, and figure out what works best for you! Thank you for checking out this “Technically Speaking” article. Check back next week for an article on the do’s and don’ts of social media used commonly by cam models. Thanks for reading!
The most important post so far. Read this for safety tips!
Many of my fans don’t know that one of the main reasons I quit being a cam model so abruptly was that I had a pretty scary experience. One regular of mine insisted on meeting in person, even if it was just for coffee. I set clear boundaries, and made it very apparent that this wouldn’t happen but he insisted on it. Believing he knew what city I was in, he started going places that he thought I frequented in an attempt to see me in person. If I posted something about McDonalds, he would shortly after send a photo of himself in a McDonalds upset that he had missed me. He once visited the university that he thought I belonged to and even went to approach a girl who apparently looked like me. Obviously, I blocked him, and never went near the city he believed I lived in. Nonetheless, the experience stuck with me. I didn’t have a huge following, and this still happened to me. It happens. Taking precautions to stay safe online is so important, especially in this industry. Here are some super important tips about staying safe as an online model.
1. Use a fake name
I’ve met cam models who use their real first names, but don’t give out their last. Not good enough. In fact, a lot of models not only use a fake name, but also have a fake real name ready to give to their special clients to give them a false sense of intimacy. Under no circumstance should you give your real name to anybody you meet through the site.
2. Hide your location
If you’re using Chaturbate, your province or state is automatically on your bio. To remove it:
Bio > Edit Your Bio > Location*
Backspace what is written there, and type to change it. I changed mine to “Canada” but a lot of models will just write something funny there. It’s up to you but I advice against having your state or province published there, especially if you’re from a smaller region.
If you use SnapChat, be sure to turn off your location from maps as well. To do this:
Settings > Who Can… > See My Location > Enable Ghost Mode
Be aware of the things you talk about on camera as well. Things to avoid talking about as it could give away hints of your whereabouts include significant weather, locally owned shops, nearby schools, events ect.
What if someone in your area watches your cam room, and then happens to run into you in public? To avoid this uncomfortable, and potentially dangerous situation, you can block users access to your rooms if they’re from certain locations by using their IP address. On Chaturbate, you can do this by:
Settings & Privacy > Broadcaster Settings > Block access to users in these countries: OR Block access to users in these regions: > select desired locations.
Personally, I blocked the province I lived in, but also the province I was raised in so that family members couldn’t accidentally find me.
Note: your shows can be recorded and re-uploaded on other sites, and you will have no way of geo blocking this material. There will be a blog devoted to Network sites soon!
Of course, these are just three ways to safe. There are many others, such as using a fake birthday, and never meeting up with anyone in real life. Thank you for reading this important post, and I hope to see you for a special interview next week!
Welcome to the first post of the Interviews series! To start things off, I decided to reach out to the man who coded for me when I was a cam model. Meet Jonny, better known as leedsladlooking4 on Chaturbate.
What is coding?
Html code is used to create electronic documents that are displayed on the web. Pages can contain a series of connections to other pages called hyperlinks. It can also be used to display hosted pictures.
Why is it important that cam models having coding on their pages?
I believe the best way for a cam model to be successful is to create a brand, much like any other business. And having a nice colourful and informative page is a great way to achieve this.
How much do you charge?
I charge 1000 tokens to create a profile, for that I include future updates such as birthdays/competitions/fan club members adding etc
*1000 tokens is equal to $50.00
How long does it take you?
A really intricate profile can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours.
When you coded for me, you didn’t ask for my password. Is there any reason a profile designer would need to sign in as the model?
No, and they shouldn’t unless they trust their guy a lot. I had one girl ask me to log into her account to set up apps and bots but I believe it is something Chaturbate has a policy against. It’s not needed for the bio code. That is just a simple copy and paste at the models end.
What is your favourite thing to code?
The pages that have lots of information on them, sometimes a profile can look a little bare if there is not much to work from.
Anything you would like to add?
I think Chaturbate is a great site to meet interesting people, and see boobs while you are doing it!
I highly recommend that whether you’re new or experienced in the industry, you check out Jonny’s page. In my experience, he has been nothing but respectful, and his work is among the best to chose from. Check out examples of Jonny’s work, or visit his twitter to inquire about his services.
