Privates vs. Password Shows

This week’s post was going to be on being gay as a cam model, but in all honestly I ended up needing to write it in a public space. Since there’s an older gentlemen continuously looking at my screen, I chose to take a different route and do a technical piece for you. Glancers understand that less.

When I started, I thought private’s and password shows were essentially the same. They’re not. Here’s a quick post on the difference.

Password Shows

  • When you start a password show, it kicks the audience out of your room, and they won’t be able to return until you’re off.
  • There is no option for your other viewers to “spy” on your show. I had viewers who were super into this idea, as it made them feel like they were getting something more exclusive. It’s a good option to bring in those kind of people.

New girls beware: When I first started, I had someone try and convince me to set a phrase in the password show section, saying that it would get me more views, as it acted as a hashtag. That didn’t make much sense to me so I didn’t do it, but in case someone is a little smarter about how they phrase it to you, just know they’re scamming you for a free show.

  • Money: Always take your tokens up front for these shows because you will hear “I’ll pay you in a gift” or “I want to make sure I like your show before I pay you”. That pay cheque will never come.

Private Shows

  • -When you leave for a private show, your other viewers won’t be given the boot. A message will appear across your screen to let them know you’re in a private, and they can leave your cam open if they please.
  • -In my opinion, private shows are where it’s at. Because you get paid by the minute, this is where you can get dirty and make your killing. And people know that this is where you get scandalous, so not only will you be collecting tokens from the primary client, but also from those paying to “spy” on the show.
  • -Money 2.0: The website does the work for you. If your client runs out of tokens, the private show will automatically end. There’s no guess work. It’s great.

A final note before you go: Don’t be that girl that obviously drags things out to keep them in your private show longer. It makes for bad business. Keep it subtle.

  1. Add a minimum time requirement to your show.
  2. Instead of asking how they are, talk dirty to them before taking off any clothes.
  3. Instead of being neutral, prolong your fake orgasm and pretend to be edging.

Make it rain, girl, make it rain.

Check back next week for our scheduled post about being gay as a cam girl!

Interview: Living With A Cam Model

1. How would you describe living with a cam girl?
Interesting. That’s probably the best word to describe it.

2. What is the funniest story from the experience?
When you were live in the kitchen and I needed water. Oh, or there was the time I had a hook up over, and I heard you on camera.
3. What influences has it had?
I actually considered becoming a cam model myself, something I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise. I thought it was taboo, but learned a lot of people do it and now I’m more comfortable with the idea.
4. Do you view cams?
Yes.
5. Have you ever come across a roommate?
I’ve never seen either of my roommates on the cam site, because of geo-block. Although, I did find someone else from my personal life on a website where his video had been uploaded to. Because it was stolen from the actual cam website he used, it didn’t matter if he had geo-block settings on.

6. Have you ever appeared online?
My voice did, so I made an alter-ego to go along with it. His name was Zach, and he even had his own twitter (now deactivated).
7. What advice do you have for someone in a similar situation?
It may be weird at first, but eventually you get used to it. Then it gets fun, and your life gets more exciting.
8. What is the main difference between living with a cam model, versus a non-model roommate?
It was more of a “nobody give a fuck” attitude. At times, we were more comfortable seeing each other in our underwear and were more open in the house. The downfall is that you live with a secret
9. Secret?
I thought the entire ordeal was interesting, and exciting so I wanted to tell my friends about my living situation, but because of privacy, safety, and stigma, I didn’t tell anyone about my roommates line of work.
As you read, “Zach’s” twitter is de-activated, so there isn’t anywhere you can find him, but I hope you enjoyed the read none-the-less. Catch me next week with a “Technically Speaking” blog on using Chaturbate settings!

Make More Money as a Cam Girl

Build a Schedule

Okay, so you have to do more than just making a schedule. You have to actually follow through with it. Some of the most successful cam models prepare a schedule up to a month in advance, and get their audience excited for the shows to come by promoting it on their social medias, and reminding their followers in the chat.

Don’t forget that there’s a bondage show happening Monday night at 7pm!”

“Be sure to come back tomorrow night for the Lush show”

Clothes On

It’s no secret that viewers come to your room wanting to see you naked. If you’re already naked, and masturbating, what incentive do they have to pay you? That’s why I recommend saving your full frontal nudity for privates, paid social media, and when token goals are achieved. Similarly, if somebody asks you to do something, like showing your feet for example, kindly let them know that they need to tip first.

Token Goals: also known as “Countdowns” or “Tip Goals”, is when a model sets a monetary goal in exchange for a service. (ie. 2,000 tokens to orgasm)

Praise Your High Tippers

If you look at other models rooms, you may notice that a majority have their highest tippers usernames attached to their profiles. Thank everyone who tips you, but pay extra attention to those who tip you well. Being public about appreciating your Tip Kings will let potential tippers know that this is the way to get your attention.

Spend Time in the Free Chat

Nobody likes a cam model that sits on their phone, ignoring their users until they reach their tip goal is reached. If you want regulars, consider spending time chatting with your viewers in the free chat. Play up your persona, and make yourself as likeable and interesting as can be.

Pro tip: If nobody is talking, sing or dance along to your music. Prompt your viewers by asking them questions about themselves.

“Using my Lush helped me a lot with making money. It’s an essential!” -Rosie

Were these tips helpful? What did we miss? Thank you so much for the read! Be sure to check back next Friday for a blog in honour of Shark Week!

Amy
